Myron Young died of cancer on July 3rd 1998.  Myron was an Air Force F-4 pilot during the Vietnam War.  His plane was shot down over North Vietnam and Myron was captured and sent to a Prisoner of War Camp.  Following his release, he left the Air Force and became a pilot for Delta Airlines.  He lived in Park City, UT at the time of his death.   He was survived by his wife and children.  I will always remember the good times that we had.  He was a good friend.

My recollection of Myron is one of a very nice, thoughtful young man.  He was always kind and respectful.  Having spent 20 years as an Air Force wife, I'm very aware of the stress for families during the Viet Nam War.  I'm very proud of our military personnel and have the utmost respect for their dedication.  We should all be thankful for the men and women who are willing to stand up for America and defend our freedom.  Thank you for your service dear classmate!!!

Myron was a warrior of the first rank.  He had an awesome record of air combat.  SIX awards of the Distinguished Flying Cross for aerial combat action in Southeast Asia.  One award is a major recognion of serious heroism.  Six are simply amazing.  He also received a Bronze Star medal for his actions as a prisoner of war.   Read the citations for these awards here http://projects.militarytimes.com/citations-medals-awards/recipient.php?recipientid=28026.  Well done, Colonel Young.  Well done.
