Steve Yeager

1945-2016

On Monday afternoon, December 26, 2016 saw the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend Steve Yeager. If you were lucky enough you knew of his kind and gentle nature, enduring loyalty and wickedly unique sense of humor. He had a passion for fishing, photography, motor sports or enjoying a great bottle of wine with family and friends. He loved spending time with his sons, sitting on the patio drinking wine, laughing and telling stories. His granddaughter was the apple of his eye. He loved spending time with Cierra, working on a school project or watching her play softball, he never missed a game.

Steve was born in Fresno, Ca on November 20th, 1945. Growing up Steve’s family moved around often because of his father, Earl’s business going from Avenal, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Healdsburg, Stewart’s Point, Honeydew, Fortuna, Santa Rosa, Tahoe City, Ukiah, then finally Napa where he spent the last year of high school and the rest of his life. He graduated from Napa High in 1963, then went to college for a stint before finally taking a machinist apprenticeship at Mare Island Naval Shipyard where he worked for over thirty years before retiring in 1995. Steve will be sorely missed by all but he will forever live in our hearts and many fond memories of him.

Steve was predeceased by his parents, Margaret (Downey) Yeager and Earl F. Yeager and sister, Rebecca Cochran. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sylvia (Mollo) Yeager of Napa, sons Jason Yeager, Paso Robles, Ca, and Joshua Yeager, Napa, sister Peggy Manning of Santa Rosa, granddaughter Cierra Yeager, Napa, and daughter-in-law Daviann (Layne) Yeager, Napa and many cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

There will be no service or burial, however a celebration in his honor will be arranged later in 2017 to be determined. All invitees will be personally contacted by the family. Memories and notes of sympathy may be shared at
