Judith DeLacy Obituary
In Loving Memory of Judith Kathryn DeLacy
Judith Kathryn DeLacy, 80, of American Canyon, entered into eternal rest on September 22, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on August 7, 1945, in Birmingham, Alabama, Judith was the cherished daughter of the late L.M. and Evelyn Thompson. She grew up in Napa, graduating from Napa High School in 1963 before attending Napa Junior College. With a natural gift for organization and a heart for helping others, Judith built a career in office administration, serving with dedication at Treasure Island Naval Air Station, Firestone Retread Factory in Berkeley, and Hillcrest Baptist Church in Vallejo. She later found her home at Skyview Memorial Lawn in Vallejo, where she spent 18 years, remembered by colleagues and families alike for her warmth, compassion, and kindness.
In 1970, Judith married the love of her life, Stephen, and together they shared 55 beautiful years of marriage. Their life together was one filled with love, laughter, and faith, and they were blessed with two daughters who were the joy of Judith's heart. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Judith poured herself into her family. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures-singing in the choir at church, and the kitchen at home, cooking favorite meals, camping under the stars, tending her garden, and cheering proudly from the sidelines at her grandchildren's sporting events.
Judith's greatest legacy is the love she gave so freely and the way she made everyone around her feel special and cared for.
She is survived by her loving husband, Stephen; their daughters, Andrea (Carl) Bakken and Amanda (Bruce) Jessup; her adored grandchildren, Laird and Colbie Jessup; and her brother, Butch (Stacey) Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents, L.M. and Evelyn Thompson.
A celebration of Judith's life will be held in the near future, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory.
Judith will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering devotion to family, and her ability to brighten every room with her kindness. Her love will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
