John E. Lund

John was a Napa native. He was born to Virginia and Karl Lund on January 2, 1944. He learned to hunt and fish from his mother at a young age and continued to enjoy those activities throughout his life. Some of his best memories were when he and his wife Elaine moved to Washington and lived for a few years in a cabin he built with no electricity or running water. John was an animal lover. He provided homes for many cats, dogs and birds over the years. He also had a green thumb. He grew large beautiful plants in his front yard where they shared the space with the many unique sculptures and whirligigs John created out of scrap metal.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine (Aultman) Lund and his parents Virginia and Karl Lund. He is survived by his daughter, Brandee Lund, His sister Gail Walker, his brother Karl Lund, and his four grandchildren, Kalin Mitchell, Cody Near, Dalis Near and Tailer Near.

A memorial potluck and barbeque will be held at John’s home, 2035 Morland Dr. on November 11 at 1:00pm. All who wish to remember John are welcome.
