So very sad to note Steve's passing. He and I became friends in the 3rd grade at Scharer Elementry School and were best of friends until the 10 grade when I joined the Cadet Corps and we drifted in different directions. Since I lived out of California for much of the next 40 years we just didn't reconnect. I thought of him often as the years passed, but I didn't reach out. Now I can't! Lesson here.....
