Karen Jane Chase Born Karen Jane Hansen on Sept 1st 1945, raised in Napa Ca, married Michael Chase from Napa on Nov 6th 1965, raised 3 sons, earned her teaching degree and found a new way to continue mothering as a teacher for many years. After a prolonged battle with several degenerate illnesses, Karen passed away Sunday June 25th 2017, peacefully in her home surrounded by music and people who loved her. Our deepest thanks go out to the family and friends who became frequent visitors in her final days, and most especially to the caregivers at Hospice of Humboldt for providing the care and guidance to allow Karen to pass as she wished; at home with dignity and with her loving husband of more than 51 years and family. May she find peace and love in god’s embrace.
Sad to hear of Karen's passing. Our closest encounter came during the Ridgeview years when I was crossing the highway at First Street on my bike and her older sister was turning onto the highway into me. May Karen be witth the Angels.
Over the years I checked several times for Karen's profile on the Napa HIgh website. We played 'fast pitch softball' in high school. Karen was so pretty and always smiling (my memory). I'm happy that she had a loving family and a fulfilling life. Rest easy sweet friend.
Many fond memories of a very powerful soul. I have no doubt she was a great teacher, getting through to even the toughest kids. So glad to hear she had a wonderful and fulfilling life.
Being a Redwood Boy, I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Karen until our 14th or 15th summer when my older sister and Karen's older sister invited us to join them cruising town on a Friday night. We sat in the back seat and they let us SMOKE! A very fond memory I will never forget (meeting Karen, not the smoking). RIP Karen Hansen Chase.
What a sweet classmate all throughout elementary , junior high and high school! Karen will be missed. My fond memory was Karen and I competing in the Duncan Yo Yo contest at Shearer in Mr Murray's class. We always laugh at this memory. RIP, Karen You are missed❤️
