Carl E. Grossi

Carl was liked by many! He was the first to introduce many of us to Bob Dylan, loved his guitar, we had many an adventure, downtown Thursday nights, pin ball games at Bel Air bowl, cruising in his '57 Ford, with chore girls to muffle his noisy exhaust. Double dates at the drive in, crazy parties, spending time at his aunt's place in Tahoe. I guess you can say we rode through history, cut first period (napa JC) only to learn Kennedy was shot. Our whole life ahead of us! Then Viet Nam those "going away" parties, everyone with a draft notice. Carl drafted into the Army, we'd write each other, talk about Napa and the current happenings. Then Carl was wounded, almost lost his leg. But recovered and moved to a more quiet life. We lost contact, moving in different directions. Still a smile would come at the mention of his name, or recalling those lost times, people and places. Napa was a great place to grow, and Carl was one of those who made it great! He's at rest now, gone are the demons of Nam, He'll be missed, RIP Bandito's De Napa. Jim Shuck
