I remember Doug during some of our classes at Ridgeview. As a youngman he was quite the outdoorsman and would explore caves whenever he got a chance. Later as young adults he and Tom Davis would enjoy hunting together while his wife Beth and I would shop and entertain ourselves. Fun times to remember after all these years!

I also remember Doug from Ridgeview days.  We were in a science class together and burned nuts (walnut, pecan, etc.) in a vague attempt to determine which had highest oil content.  Enjoyed his stories about finding and exploring caves.  Rest now good man.

Nice to see some comments and rememberance. Doug was quite a guy many good times were shared, Everytime I see a '61 chevy, I remembe his blue one. Times we broke into the downtown parade in his 32 plymouth, me standing up and poking my head through sun roof, Olds powered as I recall! He was talented, over the weekend he changed engines in his 1937 plymouth and put a 56 chrysler Hemi in it, We even got chased by the "carni guys" from the fair, They couldn't catch us. He kept blowing distributor rotors and we spent the night searching for another (pooping hoods and keeping a look out for the police) at the car lots on Soscal Ave. Times we went to Tahoe and hung out a Grossi's Aunts hotel, I was looking forward to seeing him again, we even spoke on the phone, right before our high school reunion. I was met with the news article that he had been killed in a tractor accident. Sad day. Bet you didn't know that he had once attended  St. John's Elementry. Our parents would car pool us. A man of many talents, may he rest in peace

Amazing memories of a guy long gone. As young adults and as couples we spent quite a bit of time together with he and his first wife, Beth. We raisied our babies at the same time. We played cards and the guys hunted like I had said. Doug and Beth got married the weekend after Tom and I did and we went camping up at Chester for their honeymoon. Doug was busy doing taxidermy when he and Beth split, so our time together stopped.I continued to see Beth but lost touch with Doug. I was so sad to hear of his death.

I was just thinking about going through the memory page to see who else I remembered and make comments as to their memories. Maybe we all should try that!
